The Foundation

Philemon Foundation was founded in 2009 by Kelvin Mwikya, himself an ex-prisoner. He served five years of a prison term and because of the challenges he faced in and after prison, he was motivated to be part of the efforts to make penal institutions with the character reformation and rehabilitation of offenders into productive members of society.

Our Vision

Our vision is for prisoners to be restored to society as well-equipped and trustworthy people; physically, emotionally, and spiritually whole.

Our Mission

Philemon is an holistic Christian charity which seeks to demonstrate the love of God to prisoners and former prisoners, by meeting their physical, emotional, relational and spiritual needs.

Our Core Values

The Core Values of Philemon Foundation are informed by God’s truth which we believe is revealed in the Bible and reflected in the founding documents, in the design of programs, in the view of beneficiaries- seeing them as human beings created in the Image of the Creator God.
